Guys,

You will have noticed that we've been getting plenty sign ups for our Wednesday runs, but fewer on Thursdays & Sundays.

I'm guessing that some peeps are keener to attend the farm bosses (easy loot & badges) & less keen to attend on progress nights facing repair costs & longer time being spent to get fewer badges & loot.

Obviously, this lack of enthusiasm hampers our progress & spoils the later raids, so we're trying to address this in 2 ways:

Firstly, we will award 20 dkp to those peeps who sign up for & attend a progress run & a further 20 dkp for each new boss downed. We used this on Thursday, & on that run, all raiders got 40 bonus dkp.

Secondly, if we are oversubscribed for a raid, one of the factors we will take into account in deciding who to take will be if a player has signed for the later raids that week.

I know it really sucks when someone comes online looking forward to raid & doesn't get a spot coz it's oversubscribed. There is no way to avoid that disappointment, but when choosing who to take, the primary consideration is raid requirements & subject to that, try & be fair.


This will continue, but being fair will include seeing if a member has signed for the later runs that week.


So, for example, if we have 1 dps spot on a Wednesday & players A & B are both suitable for that spot, if A has signed to attend Thuursday & Sunday , but B has not, then we will take A . If, however B is preferred for the raid coz of raid requirement (say a buff or whatever), we will take B, even though B has signed for less than A.

Also, it's relevent to remind you that we apply negative dkp to players that sign to attend a raid & just don't show.


Finally , to remind you that GEM automatically makes the first sign ups as titular until the 10/25 are full- but that does not mean a titular player is guaranteed a spot. Time of sign ups is something we look at when trying to be fair, but it is only one of the factors-& every factor is in anycase subject to raid requirements.

Thats cool. But I think you should reward the player who has come, sign in and didn't get a spot. Thats my opinion.

In my case at least, not signing for the following raids from time doesen't mean i won't come, i just don't do it unless a few hours before raid because i want to make sure that i'm there first. Also, would like to suggest the GEM event posters, if possible, to make the deadline for sign-ups 15 minnutes or 10 minutes prior to raid. As i remember, last sunday i logged about 45 minutes and was already unable to sign. It can be quite annoying for both me and the event posters, since i have to announce them every time tihs happens, and the might be afk or doing something else.

Although i am unable to fully attend many of the wednesday and thursday, this is because of school taking up a lot of my time, with upcoming exams in summer. But, ofc, whenever possible i can help, but would like my point regarding changing the deadline to be taken into consideration.

I appreciate not everyone can plan their attendances in advance because of personal circumstances & I don't crticise those that can't.

However, we can't tailor our raid scheduling to meet everyone's personal needs & have to look at what works best for most of us.

Certainly, having a sign up deadline just 15 minutes before a raid starts will mean the RL couldn't even start to plan a raid (who goes & where we go) until then & will mean starts will be delayed, with peeps hanging around while its sorted & raiding time curtailed.

I don't think that's the way forward

I agree with the fact that the RL needs time to sort the group and start, but still, it may be a good idea to let subscriptions open, due to the above-mentioned reason, because i don't think it's a good idea for the RL to be spammed before that with "i can come if you need me" whispers, not to mention that, if someone is available to raid and doesen't get picked up cause of not having signed on GEM, they have lower chance on making it.

This is why i suggested it to extend the deadline, if not 15 minutes prior to raid, as RLs need time to sort group, then maybe at least 30 minutes, let's say. An hour before raid as it is probably set now, can leave some people out, who may still be able to raid.

i agree with cen. this system demote people to come even iff he is available to raid that day and not seen any change off signing

ok, we listened to what you've said & tweeked the rules as follows:

1. There is a deadline of 6 hours before each raid start time rather than the deadline for all that week's raids being on the Tuesday.

I appreciate some may still not know up to 6 hours before if they can raid, so.....sign up reserve with a note explaining -that way you will still get progress bonus dkp in full if you actually attend.

2. anyone who attends a progress run, who hasn't signed at all will still get 10 (ie half) the progress dkp for joining in.

I've added 10 bonus dkp for last night's raid to those 5 peeps who hadn't signed
