I usually go for Nvidia, as I find the control panel and software to be a lot more stable than ATI cards.

With my latest build I went with an ATI card however; purely because ATI had their latest line out at the time whereas Nvidia was slacking behind.

run with price-performance ratio IMHO.

Ive not been paying attention as of late, but the 5xxx series looked to rape everything out there.
Nvidia is running on a dated architechture and has had a lot of rebranding IIRC and thats never good.

if you want me to do some digging I might have some time later but off the tiop of my head thats my vote.

At the moment, ATI are much less power hungry and have better price to performance ratio.
I would go for ATI.
