Addons: Hunter Focus Bar, is a great addon to have so u doesn’t have to take your eyes away from the middle of your screen every 0,5 sec. In addition there's a display for important buffs so u never drop improved steady shot, or missing a aimed shot proc as marksman. Raid Checklist, is an addon for checking raid buffs/debuffs so u know what pet u want to bring to maximize raid dps. Rotation: I haven’t tried bm or surv in a raid situation yet, so will just comment on the MM rotation. 1. You always want improved steady shot up, this means always fire steady shots in pairs 2. You want to fire your Aimed shot proc as fast as u can, but finish your 2 steady shots first if it procs at that point in your rotation. 3. You want to try and have ~44 focus when your chimera shot comes of cooldown 4. Your chimera shot refreshes serpent sting, but serpent sting doesn’t make chimera shot hit harder like before, so basically don’t use serpent sting on trash. And cast chimera before serpent sting So what I have found to be best as a basic rotation is: chimera shot -> 2 x steady shot -> 2 x arcane shot -> 2 x Steady Shot. And start over, this is ofc after u got serpent sting on the target and it changes when rapid fire is active. Stats and Gear: Agility is the best stat by far (except hit rating up to 8%) so u always want to gem 20 agi, Unless the socket bonus is +6 agi or higher with a yellow slot so u can gem 10 agi/crit. And u want to use a 20 hit gem in a blue slot for the meta bonus. Our next best stat is mastery, so u want to reforge all your gear to mastery after u get to the hit cap. Whatever u should take points from crit or haste is up in the air, a lot of people are reporting different results. But it looks like haste is still our worst stat. all this seems to be true for all specs. Pet buffs: Ferocity Hunter Pet Buffs: • Agility and Strength: cat, spirit beast (exotic) • Burst Haste: corehound (exotic) • 5% crit: wolf, devilsaur (exotic) • 12% armor debuff: raptor • 30% bleed damage: hyena • Cast speed reduction: corehound (exotic) • 10% melee attack speed reduction: tallstrider, fox Cunning Hunter Pet Buffs: • Health: silithid (exotic) • 12% armor debuff: serpent • Cast speed reduction: sporebat • 4% physical damage taken: ravager • 8% spell damage taken: dragonhawk, wind serpent Tenacity Hunter Pet Buffs: • 5% stats: shale spider (exotic) • 12% physical damage: bear • 30% bleed damage: rhino (exotic), boar • 4% physical damage taken: worm (exotic) Oh and watch the 4.0 WoW Hunter Guide from Kripparrian |

Basicly i agree with Tigers rotation.Just a little addition,if u stack steady shot up to 5(so its 10 steadies) u get free aimed which is doing a lot more dmg now on this patch. So it would be wise to implement it on rotation,ofc,it's focus dependable. Hope this helps a bit! |

The rotation is not perfect, regemmed/reforged some of my gear into haste and I can basically afford 3 arc shots on the off rotation now. As far as I know you get instant Aimed shot proc the same amount of times anyway, u don’t have to do steady shots back to back to gain stacks for the proc, not 100% sure how this works but the tooltip don’t say anything about it. Well I guess as long as u always keep improved steady shot up, use chimera the instant it comes available and dump ur excess focus with arcane shot you are doing well. |
