there are 3 poins who are not 100% mandatory in the core as you need to spend the points to reach the next tier. Thes poins are 1/1 Divine Sacrifice and 2/2 Divine Guardian the other choice would be 3/5 Reckoning. Nevertheless is high recomende to take DS & DG... why? check this macro

NOTE: the 0.5 is due to latency if u cancelaura too fast before server notice it u will cancel nothing and u may get a lot of damage from DS. If you have low latency u can put it as low as 0.1 depends on your conection

We have a raid-wide mini-shield-wall for 6 seconds. Note that this includes the paladin, meaning that these 3 points give us an extra 20% damage mitigation cooldown .

For this reason, that three "not mandatory" points in early Prot will be spent in DS/DG by the vast majority of tankadins.

this one is getting less and less common. Mainly used for undead Boss fights. Or get the extra cooldown from Lay of Hands that change already
