Next one to be killed by us is "Hydross the Unstable" .

 We are ready with gear for 2 MTs and 2 OTs , but will be good to have 2 more tanks for this fight .
 DPS must watch Damage Over Time , cause Hydross drops aggro occasionally.
 This is mostly tank fight , for dps and healers pretty straight and simple job .

another tactic which i didnt see em do was to pull the adds onto hydross in the poison stage, then freeze em onto him. then AoE down using Seed, and blizzard or fire nova or hellfire or any AoE moves. Obv blizzard doesnt work in frost phase, so its upto u how u wanna use it.

the other problem is that the positioning for the raid wasnt shown at all.

basically position the raid in a semi circle around the 2 towers, and make sure noone stands near the nature tank, or frost tanks when they arent tanking, cos they can get tombed or marked, and will die quickly. Its a simple fight, the only hard part is transitions, and calling for them to move. A good way fo doing this is for the FT to move hydross close to the NT, and then the NT taunts hydross off the FT, and hunters use misdirection for added aggro. As soon as the FT or NT (phase dependant) gets aggro, the OTs work on the adds, and pull em under him. Then its basically AoE them, tank and spank, and swap phases.

Incredibly simple, and yet as often simple things arent without there screw ups :P

A side note for healers:
one healer keep healing the previous tank so that they dont die when the rest of the raid is focusing on keeping the tank up. it usually boils down to the following lineups:
2 healers (usually paladins) heal OTs, 1 each.
1 Healer heals previous tank back to full, and keeps an eye on him or her,
1 healer heals party
the rest heal the maintank.
obv the adds last roughly 10 secs, so as soon as the OTs are clear from damage, the healers assigned to em then either heals the tanks, or heals the raid (depending on the situation)
After roughly 5 seconds the previous tank should be safe from damage too. so that healer goes onto raid or tank duty.

oh and as a final unnecesary statement, the charge macro for the frost tank to engage (even though im sure he has it)
/cast charge
/stopcasting
/cast defensivestance

and for added cheating:
/stopcasting
/cast bloodrage
that should give the tank aggro and also a good starting value of rage to use shield slam with.

My first question is: are we geared good enough for this fight?

if we have the gear. then i would suggest going for him.
since hes the 1st boss in ssc. if we get his out of the way. the way is free for the rest of ssc.
and if we have the gear now. the only problem is practicing. so we should just whipe for a couple of raids bud get him down.

ofc we can go for an "easyr" boss by just killing the damn trash all the time.
bud what do we win with that?
a little bit of gear /care
i reather get that trash out of the way so we dont have to cancel raids on bosses after lurker because it would take to long to kill the trash again.

thats my oppinion.

Ok since we want to get stupid Hydross on farm and the main problem is turning out to be availability of nature resist tanks, we should have some backups.
Cren has been working on, and pretty much has the full nature resist set ready. Gnat is frost, Dothuh is Nature.
Now I am thinking which way to go. It would be nice to have both so we have a choice, but it takes some work and alot of farming/gold, so we should focus on one or another first. Seeing as we have 2 nature tanks atm I thought frost was the way to go, but Gnat is most active and that makes me think I should do nature for more availability.
I'm stumped - help me out here.
here is the list of mats needed for each set. Also we obviously need the crafters to make the stuff, which is mostly Bs, JC, and a bit of LW for kits. Enchants I can do myself, and also the faction enchants which are just gold.
Frost resist set:
2 x Felsteel Bar
26 x Khorium Bar
5 x Mercurial Adamantite
16 x Heavy Knothide Leather
46 x Primal Water
64 x Primal Fire
3 x Primal Nether
Plus mats/gold for shoulder/shield/cloak.

Nature resist set:
28 x Felsteel Bar
5 x Mercurial Adamantite
16 x Heavy Knothide Leather
46 x Primal Life
64 x Primal Shadow
3 x Primal Nether

For the full list of gear you can check out Hydross resist sets

Thanks

I think between us tilly and I can make most of the jc stuff, and I'll keep putting mercurial adamantite, khorium etc into the bank as I get it on my daily dailies round. Given we want to get on with Hydross quickly though, and the bank gold stash is looking very healthy, why don't we simply buy some of the mats we need? Its for the guild ultimately, so I don't think most people would mind the money being used this way?
