The last few weeks have seen resounding success in Naxxramas, with the spider and nearly all of the plague wing cleared.
But on Sunday night I believe our guild reached a barrier on Patchwerk.

I main tanked Patchwerk, and have no level 80 raiding gear, I believe that a good portion of our dps also have no or little raiding gear. Unless we want to make naxx a bloody upward struggle, and something a lot harder than it frankly needs to be. We need to gear more people up.

10 man raids are a brilliant oppurtunity to do this, not just for people to get gear, but for people to get more of a feel of what the later bosses in the dungeon are like.

Although I respect that 25 man raids are more important, I believe we should still run an equal amount of 25 man to 10 man raids, while we still need gear from them.

Comments Please :)

We haven't even cleared 10 man naxx and we've already neglected it. The better our gear is the easier 25 man will be.
Healers going oom and tanks getting hit for more than they should means we're doing it under-geared.
He's meant to hit for 23k ish as a hateful strike and he was hitting me for 23-24k and other tanks for a lot more so gear was an issue.

I think here you guys seem to be passing the buck.
In reality, if naxxramas is so easy we should have kt down in 25 man by now.
By not doing 10 mans and getting the gear. A easy raid is going to become an upward struggle, with many nights like sunday wiping upon new bosses. When they don't need to be.
If your worried about raid behaviour I believe it can only get worse if you seek this action.

P.S Has DKP not been updated yet?

I don't think I've heard anyone say we're no longer doing 10 man naxx.

But the problem is.
Noone gives any due respect to the 10 man raids.
The mood is, go do one if you want to, but the guild won't properly organise one.
And if we want real progression
This has to change

the only progress i have made is how to rack up huge repair bills !!

1: Patchwerk is always going to hit hard..regardless of gear its a dps fight and in my opinion we are geared for it :)..we have the healers to get through it..we were unfortunate on the last try.. 9% is pretty good in my eyes.

2: The last 10 man that i went on was a complete farce imho.. no disrespect to turqoise (raid leader.. not his fault)..but ppl really need to start listening..we were lucky to down grobbulus.. ppl chatting in chat channel when boss tactics are being explained..constant afk's (you know who you are).. not properly buffed. People just not listening in general adds to a wipefest. Just because its a 10 man doesnt mean you wont wipe !!. I must admit after the last 10 man i wouldnt go back in a hurry

I agree that 10 mans is a good idea.. but we gotta get focused..nobody is gonna wanna go to run up huge bills and get pissed off with other players. If we want to progress we gotta pull together and cut out the inconsistancies EG:

1:Be on time
2:Be ready with flasks, food etc
3:Listen when instructions are given
4:Follow instructions during fights.
5:Chatting during raids

These also apply to the 25 mans..we could..should be more progressed than we already are imho

Anyway..rant over

Malachii

thanks Mal was just typin that thing =P

we do 10m raids, when we dont have enough for 25m and also other days when ppl wants to go.

i dont understand u, u givin up after first nite where "im sure" motivation was after all bad after long clearin and afks and stuff. and if motivatino is bad i think focusin lacks also

and bout gettin gear. why ppl doing some pre lich kings dungeons stuff or lvlin alt instead they could do heroics or gettin rep for faction by quests. some of ppl just lvl as many char they can and wait gettin gear from guild runs?

I think it does sound like the attitude of a few is the problem. Thats being looked at and I agree with everything people have said about that.

But...

We also need to remember the xp has only been out a month! There are lots of people still gearing up heroics, which when sorted will also help the raiding. I do feel, which is my pet rant, that people are never satisfied no matter how much progress we make. I personally think for a game that has been out a MONTH, with a casual guild (i.e. not 24/7 raiding), we are doing very well. We need to keep the momentum perhaps, and not fall into bad raiding behaviour, but we are already starting to fall into the old pattern of never celebrating our successes and instead constantly complaining that we're not fast enough. It really annoys me, and it takes all the fun and achievement out of raiding.

PLEASE don't let us start going down that route again - its very demotivating, and won't help get people along to raids.

On the subject of 10 mans, maybe we do need to sort out our main raiding nights. On the other hand, there is absolutely nothing stopping anyone in guild from posting and leading an organised professional 10 man raid on the calendar.
