I just join Lazarus yesterday and did a fast respec (ok I copied my class leaders spec :) ) did some shopping and startet training my weapon skills as is was really low. Never seen a tree dodge so much before - lol.

The post is to say what I plan to do today or tomorrow, but if you se something stupid / not so wise, I would appreciate a comment.

Gear

I would buy / have crafted:
Head: Spiked Titansteel Helm
Wrist: Vengeance Bindings
Feet: Spiked Titansteel Treads, but will work on reputation with the Knights of the Ebon Blade to be Exalted to get Death-Inured Sabatons.

I would use Emblem of Heroism for:
Neck: Pendant of the Outcast Hero

Back, Chest, Hands, Waist, Legs, Rings and Trinkets is in place for now: Armory link for Masonic

Enchant

Head: Arcanum of Ferocity It seem I need under 200 reputation with the Cenarion Expedition. I will work for the Arcanum of Torment
Shoulders: Greater Inscription of the Axe. Already Exalted with the Son of Hodir, so I go for that ASAP.
Chest: Scroll of Enchant Chest - Powerful Stats Seems expensive, so this might be one of the last thing I do.
Legs: Icescale Leg Armor
Feet: Enchant Boots - Icewalker
Bracers: Enchant Bracers - Greater Assault
Back: Enchant Cloak - Major Agility
Weapons: Many options and I wait with that.

Gems

They will be new slots, but wait until I have the gear.

Looking forward to come online today.

Masonic welcome to the guild.

I can give u comments on all items but since u post so many i would advise u to go to www.maxdps.com. This website gives u a clear view off all the items which are available now and the way u can get it. Personally I would change items first which will give u the best boost in dps. Make sure to reach hit cap first. Which for melee is 295, 9% officially, in gameplay however, according to Elitistjerks.com, hitcap for melee is 8%, 263 hit rating.

Im a DK myself but warriors and DK's use almost the same gear. Prob the most important item of all is ur Weapon. So i would try to get a good one asap.

Another tool u can use to compare items with is Rawr. Its a program u can download which is used by hardcore raiders. U can find it at www.codeplex.com/Rawr

Good luck and if u have more questions im happy to give u an answer.

I cant say Im an expert on melee dps, but a couple points.
For warrior you want to stack strength as main stat, better than ap and agi I think. Its also nice cos it scales with buffs that increase stats like blessing of kings. Another thing is that I would push hit more than anything else until you arent missing, or at least almost not missing. 8% is cap for melee main hand, but for dw I think they say 16% or so. Although after your specials arent missing hit becomes less important obviously. Anything passed 250 hit or so, it start to give diminishing upgrades in dps, and you are better off building up other stats.
Elitistjerks is a great site for info of all classes and specs. I really cant endorse their forums enough.
Again, I may be wrong about some of this, as I said, Im no melee expert, but there is plenty of info around.
Also - I dont want to belittle the importance of getting as ready as you can before raiding in order to be valuable during raids, but on the other hand I have a hard time telling someone to spend thousands of gold on gear when I know that within 3 or 4 raids most of it will be obsolete. I suggest looking into what drop from which bosses, with Naxx on farm you should be able to get good gear upgrades pretty fast, especially since most of our melee plate wearers are pretty much pimped out, at least from the wing bosses.
Good luck!

Thanks for these really good replies.

There is a lot of information and I have taking some out to continued my gearing for Masonic, but it is clear that I need some raid run and then go back the Elitistjerks site.

About spending gold there is a natural limit :D, when it goes out it's out. I had 6500 gold saving for the mount with the vendors, but as focus is different now, I have been speding around 4000 gold to get gear and if needed I start grinding herb and mines again. My view is any slot that can by replaced for 1000 gold or less is a requirement, but the payback for my character should somewhere be uselfull and make a different for the raid. 1000 gold for 5-6 dps more may not be a good way to spend money. And again an enchant of maybe 800-1000 gold should not be wasted on item the with high replacement possibility after 3-4 raids.

be.imba.hu put me almost back on 25 man Naxx, so I'm pretty close according to this site. I feel my character have to be evaluated as able to do the instance as the driver (me 8) ) do not have the experiance to compensate for lake of gear.

http://be.imba.hu/?zone=EU&realm=Bronze ... er=Masonic

But as long there is a non-raid option to improve the gear I'm committet do do what ever I can to implement the improvement, but its money money and money = grinding herb and mines.

Im planning to invest in an enchant for my Titansteel Destroyer as I believe, there will go some raids before it is replaced if at all. What enchant should I go for Moongoose or Berserker or something else?

I have a lot of fun as DPS warrior, I'm dying a lot doing quests :?. I have problem with my rage doing quests, but its was much better in the heroic I did yesterday. My recount said 1520 dps during the instance, but I'm only doing around 1000 alone. Getting rage is the problem.

I think while questing the fights are too short to generate a lot of rage. But since im not a warrior I would ask Boldwing about that. I dont know ur spec but i know that there are talent points which will generate more rage. So maybe ur current spec is more suited for raiding and less for questing.

About the enchant on ur Weapon. I would go for Attackpower, u got +85 or +110 attack power atm.

Btw 1500+ dps in a raid, will be sufficient to begin with raiding in Naxx.

I did around 1520 dps in Naxx yesterday. No complain from class leader about my dps :D. I did get some advise to use heroic strike more and add two glyps to my setup: Glyph of Heroic Strike as rage level also was bit of a problem in raid as I have faced during questing, also the Glyph of Whirlwind was added. From my tanking time I keept the Glyph of Cleaving.

I was really impressed by the raid leader about explaning the tactics to all the new people in the group. At the first boss I believe 4 people had not done the first boss before. And on top of that at least one raider newbie was there too : me!

But great experience during raid for the first at all in WoW, but also a very concentrating time. I was offered icecream during the raid, but I had to say no, as I was extreamly busy. Listen, understanding, looking for debuffs, DBM warnings etc etc, but thanks all, I had a great time.

regards
Masonic
