Hey ppl.
I was surfing the web, and found some info about pally dps in top US guild - vodka.

on boss fights he has about 9k dps, so i went on and looked at his gear.
I was pretty surprised to see 4 leather items on him, 2 rings of +agi, and cloak of +agi.
46.26% crit is probably what gives him the added damage (over me lets say that i got roughly the same AP but only 33% (UB) crit)

I'd like to hear some thoughts about that from all you, is it really worth wearing leather for retadin?

my pala lore sucks...

but it is well known that blizz is not happy with plate wearers take leather items.
just like plate healers(palas again) used to take cloth.

so such things exists.

make more research using wow-heroes and check the gear of other top players

I don't claim to be an expert, but I think the choice of leather items is less to do with the presence of agi, than to do with the absence of ArPen, which is a stat you want to ideally be avoiding.

Also, in Cataclysm, I've read that they are going to introduce means of stopping stuff like holy paladins rolling on cloth by making plate far more desirable.

2stars is prolly correct, ArPen helps our dps but its not what we should be looking for haste/AP are much better.

baba you still need to fix your spec...steal the guys you linked.

Baba coment pali with 9k dps using leather... i point one 9k using plate. Just wanted to say that u can get imba dps with plate also. And if the leather one has 10% more crit the plate one need to have another stat to compensate... didn't check with one but i will...

there's lots of info here on about everything you need to know. Also, there was a post about BiS gearsets, one with all plate and one with any type of gear and the overall difference in dps was very low.

As for the crit rating, I have around 40% crit unbuffed, but that's probably because I use 2 crit trinkets (don't use them, yours are better).
If you feel you need more crit, I'd say try to get as many of it through gear (keep gemming strength as you are now), you've got some items with ArP, which is not very useful to us, that you can replace for ones with crit.

Hi Baba,

it was in a ICC 25 run 4 first bosses. At the end of the ride he was 2nd dps with 9.2k dps cannot tell you boss fights but yesterday, 2 miniboses before Prof. P and Blood Prince all dps was lower but he was close to 8k again 2nd after a hunter with a bit over 8k.

I am monitoring him a bit, cos i never saw a pali with that much dps. if i get more info i will post again.

cheers
