We use very few, but important addons in our raids and these are the ones anyone who wants to raid with us must have.

1. Group Calendar - to sign up for the raids. (Must be correct version).
2. Teamspeak - voice communication. Do not have to have a microphone but must be able to hear raid leader clearly. Can be downloaded at http://www.teamspeak.com. (Normal Client, not updated exe.)
3. Ct raid assist - the basic pack only required. http://www.ctmod.net.
4. Deadly Bossmods - For raid warnings and timers. http://www.deadlybossmods.com
5. Omen or Klh Threatmeter - updated version.

For raid leaders (of any raid) - Ct_raidtracker. Small Ctra mod that logs all raid details.

Class specific addons according to respective class leaders.

These are the required addons for raiding. There are many more posts here about suggested addons and mods that I strongly advise all to read up and learn about.

oRA2 is basically CT_Raid, but much improved, it doesnt bug, and it doesnt use nearly as much memory as CT_raid, infact you forget its there.

I gave ORA a quick go.

I dislike it for the same reason I didn't like the CT Raid full package - it's full of other addons and mods that I'm not interested in.

However CT Raid has CT Core, which only comes with the stuff needed by your Raid Leader and not any of the other mods.
Is there an ORA Core or something for ORA?

oRA2 has pretty much everything you need. It also works with raid tracker as far as i know.
Its perfectly fine tho.

Its basically Omen vs KTM.

You missed my point Shead - my problem was it had loads of things I don't need...

Chris, the difference is in the fact that it does indeed have a lot of things you don t need, but in that case, you should just use whatever you feel you need.
In fact, oRA uses a significant lesser amount of resources, thus allowing for smoother gameplay and graphics.
It also bugs less, and if you look at CT Core, that s an extra thing you need to install next to CTRA.
I see no reason to skip oRA and go for the CT mods really, the only thing that CT mods are still good at are the mail mods :P
