Doesn't seem as imba as the shadow Priests, but I'm still working on that "lol-spec" hybrid Smite build

Here's the level 70 version

Annoyingly Level 70 doesn't give me enough points to get all of the vital talents ='(

Here's the level 80 version:

I'm pretty happy I've got all of the talents I'd like here.

But is it worth it?
From a DPS point of view, it doesn't look as powerful as Shadow, plus has no Mana regain for the party. This can't compete a pure DPS spec.
From a healing point of view, it's lacking a couple of healing boosts from deep in the tree, but I'd say it competes - you can just about call it a healing spec, even if a dedicated healer will beat you on the healing meters by a little bit.

So what's the justification for having it? And does it hold water?
Well, you have a character that can DPS or Heal depending on the situation. Might be good for ZA runs as a backup healer who goes DPS when not needed.

My Warlock has better gear than my Priest, and I'm a better at topping the DPS charts than topping the healing charts so I've always seen my Priest as my second character.
I think this gives me an excuse to mess around with his spec a bit, and give this a try.
If Ell lets me ^_^;;

OK, I've got Ell's permission to be the test ginnie pig for the hybrid spec, so come the patch, I'm respeccing =P

Poke me from time to time, to see if it worked ^_^;;

I've had a chance to try this out now, and I must say, I am loving it!
DPS looks good so far, and I can be a pretty compitant healer as well, without respeccing or even switching gear!
Haven't had any mana regen issues so far - though the new Priest mana regen spell is still a nice addition ^_^;;

My major worry about the spec was that a DPS Holy Priest would not have the same utility has a Shadow Priest, due to Vampiric Touch giving out mana to the Priest's party.
However Vampiric Touch has been nerfed, and there is now a Holy mana regen channelled spell giving Holy Priests some regen ability for their party, which evens things out.
A Holy DPS Priests will be giving the whole raid +50 Spirit and +50 Spellpower too (or +80 at level 80), so I think we've got a reason to be in a raid.
