There's a rumour going round on the internets that we'll be getting the WOTLK talent updates in a patch. Possibly soon.

So I want to open the flood gates and start thinking about builds to use after the patch, but before level 80 is unlocked.

Here's an attempted build for a Demonologist, which requires level 70:

I've gone for Demonic Pact over Improved Shadow Bolt; if I manage to keep Demoic Pact up then that's a 10% boost to everyone's spell damage.

What are your thoughts?

well that ur really mixed hybrid not gonna work.. first for that spec should use 1point for nightfall and anyway its not work u can almost do that kind of spec alreayd i tried it and it sucks and much =P cant make dps at all.. i make much more with 40-0-21 or sacrifice destro build.. ofc there is much more talents point available in next patch but there is also much more talents in end of each tree which increase ur dmg alot. imo

No, it's not possible to get the three major damage dealers (Shadow Mastery, Demonic Sacrifice and Ruin) at level 70, because we only have 61 talent points - not enough to get all of them!

I was wondering what would happen in the expansion - would everyone go for the hybrid build, or would the bottom tier talents be powerful enough to make that unattractive?

Having said that, before tBC came out I predicted a hybrid build, which no-one even touched - so I'm not exactly a shining light here!

as u know (i think) i like to play 40/0/21 as much than sacrifice/destro build. cause 40/0/21 boost raid better ill play it =P so kind of made my new lock build for lvl 80 which also boost raid and also semi dps spec and no need to heal affli lock even that much what they heal now =P and improved imp so good for tank also and Blizz changed "Shadow Embrace" so very good boost for shadow priests/and other locks in raid.
ofc more. its also more comblicated to keep dps up cause 2 dot more than i use now so its 5 dot and Curse of Elements to keep up but talent "everlastin affliction" has 100% chance to refresh corruption when i use SB or drain life so it helps little bit. well dont think i have problems but if i have im gonna get ruin instead of few dot. and this is not best good for dps on bosses which reset aggro during fight (like leotheras) cause so many dot to follow =P

Anyway, I've continued to work on my level 70 Demonology build:

The issue I have with Demonology is that Blizz has nerfed the power of the earlier talents, yet added some really powerful ones deep at the bottom. Getting the talents at the bottom with only 61 talent points is tough.
In the end I decided to leave out Demonic Resilience (hopefully I won't need it with two T5 and Fel Synergy) and get the bare minimum from Affliction and Destruction, and go for the deep down Demonology ones.

Even logged in at 8 o'clock to see if it was there; seemed to be server downtime as normal though.
