Can we take a look at who has what type of spec? This way we know who has points in improved healthstones, improved imps, malediction or Shadow embrace - thus improving our raid functionality and teamwork.

My own build is this one currently:

It has malediction for raid functionality and is other than that build for grinding and solo play.

I know I can't play right now, so it's not much use to you, but just for the sake of it, here's mine.
I'm a big fan of my Felguard, but it's hurting me in the Affliction spec area. If and when I come back I might respec to pure affliction.

You have an OK pvp and grinding spec. But for raids, this spec is very bad imo, it adds no raid functionality in any field.
Also, you re gimping your dps this way, since your minion isn t that good on dps (contrary to hunters).

i'm not a lock i know... but mine and ell's favourate spec is the shadow master/ruin spec:
38 - 0 - 23. i feel this is one of the best specs because of the damage boost it gives to other locks, and also to shadow priests... and because of the shad priests getting more damage, everyone else benefits.

but 'sup to u. theres alot of lock specs so theres many ways you can use these in raids.

as for demonology, it tops damage in 10 mans, and its decent on leo, but tbh u will get alot more from improving your other two talent trees.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I've still been thinking this over, for when I come back.

Currently I'm 20 41 0 - I'm a fan of both Affliction and Demonology, and that spec let me use the Felguard.

I'm tempted to change to 29 32 0. I'd lose the "I play all my records backwards" Felguard, but I would gain Siphon Life and Shadow Mastery, plus still keep Soul Link, Mana Feed and Master Demonologist from the Demonology tree which are very helpful.

41 20 0 is an option as well; it would gain me another debuff, but I'm not sure if one more debuff is worth losing a 20% threat reduction though. (I am always getting myself killed...)

sl sl is an ok spec for arenas, howver it gimps ur damage in raid

imo 38 - 0 - 23 is the best lock spec u can get for damage, cos its dot up and spam shadbolt til u need to redot. siphon life should cover life tap, and as for threat, well u have some reducing talents in both trees, and also soul shatter.

you should be fine using that spec, only way u can out aggro is to use searing pain spam, which isnt adivisable.

looked all over forums and a lot of ppl go for the 40/0/21...i've got atm 32(darkpackt)/8(improved imp and Demonic Embrace) and 21 (ruin) so summing up i'm 32/8/21

and regarding points in demo...i agree with chris...u have some really nice buffs u can get that can boost u'r damage very nice...i found also a warlock with 1927 shadow bonus dmg who was rideing with ''guard'' and still was top dps...even posted a print screen i found from him.
