recently i've been grouped up with a couple of locks fromour guild and they both seemed to have a spec of 0 - 10 - 51

the question i ask is why?

this isnt a high damaging spec and will probably cause alot of aggro. Infact i saw one warlock that didnt even have the threat reducing talent on the destro tree.

now i dont mind destrolocks or ppl having there own specs, it's your game, you pay for it so you play it how you want, but i just wanna put forward my opinion on this matter.

If you want to go destro, then a spec of 0-21-40 always works well, otherwise i've found affli to be just as good, if not better. There are atleast 2/3 recognised affli lock specs so if u wanna have a look at em i will link em below:

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=IErbbzfzVtcZZvx0xM0z This is the improved curse/ruin spec basically dots up and spam shad bolt. dark pact life tap and SL for more mana.

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=IErbbMfzVtcobZxx0tM basically the same as the last spec but with UA and a 2point healthstone, this wont do as much dam with shad bolts, but u got UA ticking so will probs do more damage.

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=IErbbMfzVtcoRZxx0xM again follows the basic affli damage ways, but this has improved pimp and a 1point HS, so will be good in a tank party.

but if u dont like these then dont go them :P its up to you lol, ideally it would be better for warlocks to have each of these specs as usually we should take 4 locks to a raid and there are 4 specs on this page so meh. :P btw if anyone has any other suggestions can you post them below with a description of why u chose this spec and how it benefits the raid.

I've never understood it either. It's a powerful spec, but it seems to be only there to let Warlocks play like Mages, only without sheep or food.

I don't necessarily mean that as criticism though, just that I don't understand myself.

Any spec is good if you know what to do with it. Spamming searing pain will get ppl pissed off tho. And if you got shadow dmg gear, dont use talents for fire bonuses. Its stupid. I think if u want to nuke, take siphon life for mana, if u wanna be lazy, felguard does 30% of your dps. Tho ur using a shitload of shards at gruuls, it dies a lot there. So maybe if u dont have 70 shards on u, pass it.

Best would be going for siphon and ruin, other talents are not that important. Or ditch siphon and take demonic sacrifice for nice -dmg bonus. Our tanks are so good geared they dont need the pimp buff neccesarily.

well u can go sacrifice spec, but its not that great for an affli lock, impimp is still useful, as alot of bosses need around or above 18k hp for some bosses, especially magtheridon.
