Best way when lvling a resto shammy is just go run instances, ur gear is almost done when u hit 70 and off to kara u go. i was lvl 70 half a week when i got to kara and had 1.4k healing and about 10k mana. Fast gearing up as a shammy in kara, no real competition for the gear. and now u can buy the old bg blue gear from vendors (real cheap too) so theres really not much need for running normals no more and u can just grind honor for epic pvp gear. tho its a pity, the instances train u to use the chars propely.

I posted it for Leven/Metaljack, since they said there was no instance raiding gear, so Metaljack supposedly couldn't respec to resto before he had loads of kara gear, I said it's bullocks and pasted this list

still dont see any epics what could help metal to keep dowing the current instances what he can do now also
and to level a profession compleetly only to get some epic healing items is very expensive becaus it's not only the profession no you also need to get the mats for those items.

and there is nothing wrong by dowing kara and get some gear there becaus your basicly do the same theta only have mooncloth gear and and 4 kara epics.
and healing is not a problem for us in karazhan

That's true, but i also have a many blue-items which are very good, which I worked for myself, and look, I can heal in SSC/TK, wherever.

He should have at least some epics already for resto-shams (rough guess) and he should work a little to fill the other slots up with blues, nobody cares about the colour of an item, as long as it makes you able to do your job well enough, and that is the whole point.

That a bit of effort gets done outside of raids as well.

personally i think the way metaljack is doing it now.. is slow and painfull

i would say..

go for it. respec
work on your gear as resto (will go much faster)
get some skill etc.

and since we are always a little short on healers.. youll get to raid ssc/magi anyway.
since a crap geared healer > no healer.
(translation): Since a crap geared ealer is better then no healer at all)

The Quake in the Earth is correct, a resto sham could be of much use unless we have a steady amount of CoH priests (which is generally not the case) to take over raid-healing.

Especially at Hydross one resto sham can do the raid-healing all by himself, and the experience thing is definitely true, an unexperienced healer is way more dangerous than an experienced healer with a bit lesser gear.

and the part about dowing effort outside kara is true gladly metal is dowing that by pvp to get healing items

And Matafa(ka) is enhance btw. Tho i never used it anyway. Still 2k +healing but nvm, loving the ability to whack a clothie down in 1 sec.

So I have replaced all my greens with blues and have attempted running some random heroics. Needless to say i got my but whooped. Everyone was taking way too much damage for any one healer to manage. My question to anyone who reads this how are us shamans supposed to deal with this. Stack haste? Stack Spirit so we spam healing surge? or are heroics just not viable for pugs right now? Very frustrated help me out.
