Recently i have changed my OS to Frost as i want to try it out for a abit and see who it compares to me normal Arcane DPS. I find that In terms of normal nuking it does not help tremendously unless u have alot of crit and a fair amount of haste as there is only one Main spell which u can continuously cast.

My normal rotation on a boss fight will be to spam Frostbolt and make sure that my Ice Barrier is always on me or as much as i possibly can manage. When it comes to Aoe Spamming Blizzard increases my normal Aoe with arcane simply for the fact along with all the little perks with being a Frost mage U also get large increases to all ur frost spells.

Another perk about being a frost mage is the wonderous fact that i have NO MANA PROBLEMS!!! :O lol Frost mages spells are much more mana effecient for the damage thy do.

Those are basically the basics to Frost mageing and if anyone wishes to pursue the path of the Frost Mage feel free to ask me about it x

Apparently Frost has become a viable raidspecc, and not for just trash...a friend of mine told me that she actually sometimes raids as a frost (no not just naxx 10 she raids in a well established raiding guild on our server) and on some fights its actually pretty solid dps...Will try and found out more about which fights etc

Yes well i have tried using frost on boss fights and i find that unless u have alot of crit u will not be as good as an Arcane mage yet. However i have tried it and i do around 6k on my mage so you should try it out

I used to raid in TBC frostspecced... from Kara upto BT and Mount Hyall. Especially in Hyal the dps was high due to the fact of the large AOE groups hehe... but it was like u said just spam frostbolt, use cd's when up... Pretty boring but the AOE damage was awesome and the slowing effect from frost was nice aswell... my off-specc is still forst but i need to respecc it to a proper specc befor i try raiding with it... I only just got my rotation and macros for arcane in my fingers so i will wait with respeccing to frost to try it out for a while
